Pillow insert on Prosport? Leave on?

My Prosport harness to booster came with a plush pillow pad thing that goes on the seat bottom.
Do I need to take it out for big kids, or can I just leave it on?

The seat crazily says ages 1 and up or over 20 lbs. so I'm sure the pad isn't meant for a 5-year-old, but it's super comfy to leave it on. As long as he doesn't need more harness height, is the pad OK?

Nothing jumped out in the manual regarding this pillow.

I read twice through my manual and couldn't find anything saying when to take it out. I took it out since with it DD doesn't have much room at all, but when she outgrows it and it gets passed down to DD2, I will put it back in since she has a princess and the pea complex.

I gave my dd (5 yrs old) the choice of whether she wanted it on or off. She chose on. If she outgrows the harness before I'm ready for her to be boostered (unlikely), then we'll take it out.
