Head Slump

I have a head slump question. I've not had a problem with it before. Matthew was in the Radian in dd's van ff. On the way home from the zoo, he started falling asleep, chin on chest. I woke him and told him to lean his head to the side of the seat. He did this and no more head slump. He fell asleep.

Is it normally not this easy?

I wish! :) Been trying (with the help of many here) for weeks to solve a head slump + shallow back seat situation. I've tried telling DD to lean against the side, repositioning her head after she falls asleep, letting her take a small pillow in the vehicle and more. No luck. :-( It's just the geometry of the vehicle seat combined with how car seats install... I don't believe we would have this problem if she were ffing in our other vehicle.

My 7 yr old rode in a nauti in my 3rd row(very upright) until recently and his head would fall every time he fell asleep. My older kids sat next to him and would put his head back up but typically it would fall down again within minutes. He has always been a floppy headed sleeper though so it probably varies a lot depending on the car, the seat and the kid.

Can I ask what may be a silly question? Is head slump dangerous in the event of a crash? I have a floppy headed sleeper harnessed in a GN & I always just figured when he is uncomfortable he will lay his head to the side (which he does sometimes).
