BLVD 70 Headwings - Just Foam?

I was playing with one in the store this week and they had a broken one. On my old BLVD 65 and my FRs, there is plastic and then foam in the headwings. In the new BLVD 70, it appeared just to be a foam headwing. Is this true or did I not investigate it enough (sales guys were near, didn't want to look too weird.)

I bet I look weird. I am always in the carseat aisle and try to wear different clothes or hairstyles. Why am I there again? they must wonder!

I just want to see what's new and play with features.

I flapped those headwings around and they seemed so flimsy.
Hopefully there is some science behind them. But I wish they seemed like they'd at least hold up to daily use.

I would bet my kids would unintentionally snap those off just climbing in and out. I'll play with them again next time I go to a BRU:)

They are "flimsy" on purpose. They're meant to follow your child's head in a crash for SIP. The Britax redesign video shows it clearly. ;)
