My Frontier came!

My mom got DD1 a Frontier and it came today. She is going to CA this weekend and she was so excited about her new seat that she begged me to set it up for her to ride in. Harnessed. Lol so my super-tall almost 9 yo is riding harnessed this weekend. And she has at least an inch left.

Is the new one with the Side-Impact Cushion Technology worth it for safety? I assume no other real changes?
If I have a new Frontier 85 (but not the new one coming out this summer)?

I just bought it not too long ago. My concern is the air-bag things will make the seat bigger and hinder 3 in a row set-ups. But as I'm a side-impact freak...do these airbag things really matter? I have no idea, but the ones on our Advocate seem pretty pathetic. Pockets of plastic with some air that are always in the way. Thoughts?

I don't know much about the new ones, hers is a regular Frontier 85. I wouldn't get the new one because we need 3 across too often.

Hey, if I were her, I'd be excited, too... it'd be so comfy to have a harnessed seat with lots of leg room on the plane... and if she NEEDS a tray, that's what a large book or a binder is for... and she'll HAVE cupholders.
