Re: Anyone see this announcemnt from Dorel?

It makes sense! Carseat makers and cars in general should take a hint from NASCAR. If these cars can slam into brick walls (and the driver can be, technically, fine), then why not apply that technology to carseats and regular cars to a greater extent?

If there were a 5 pt. harness for me, I'd wear it! I also would appreciate a roll cage. If every car were a NASCAR they'd cost $$$$$$$, I know. But the safety features are ones I would love.

My brother works with NASCAR. I'm excited to see what Dorel comes up with.

I wasn't saying it was a bad thing. We own 3 CAs and thinking of buying a 4th . I'm kinda excited to see what they come up with. DH was talking the other day... He was trying to figure out a way to get 5pt harnesses in all seating positions. I couldn't help but laugh at that one.

I had several classmates in school that drag raced their every day cars and have four point harnesses professionally installed. One survived a rollover in a late 80s CRX because of it with zero major injuries. Which was amazing to me since I had a CRX and there is nothing to that car except engine, front seat, and tail lights.

Sent from my HTC Evo using Car-Seat.Org... please excuse typos and autocorrect!!

I missed that thanks for posting it. Ive often wondered why Britax didn't go in that direction since they are in North Carolina where most of the nascar teams are.

It will be interesting to see what Dorel & BSS come up with. Maybe there will be a pro line the onboard air pro, CA pro and a nicer looking harness to booster (I was rather disappointed in the the one that just came out).

It will be very interesting to see how this pans out and what seats come of it. Thank you for sharing.

Exciting! I hope it doesn't take forever. I thought car seats should be made out of stuff like the bumbo seats, or maybe lined with it. At the very least, lined with EPP foam rather than just the head area, or half way down the back, ending abruptly right in the middle of the back.

If we could figure out how to do it in DH's truck on passenger's side I'd be super happy! The seatbelt on that side the seat has to be all the way back for it to even reach to buckle. Once baby comes we'll need to move the seat up some.
