Removal of headrest required for rear facing in certain vehicles?

I remember one car I installed a seat in required the head restraint to be at a certain level or not be removed for a rear facing car seat. Anyone know which vehicles have that rule?

My Momentum 65 states in the manual that the headrest must be in the lowest position when installed RF'ing. I don't know if all evenflo seats say that or just the momentum.

ETA: I thought you were asking about car seats, I realize now you said VEHICLES, lol.

I wouldn't mind knowing what seats too (I didn't realize any seats required it).

The Momentum doesn't have a headrest.

I'm not sure about vehicles. I know that lots of them have many different rules when it comes to ff'ing seats, but I don't know of special rules for rf'ing off the top of my head.

There are so many variations in vehicle manuals that this isn't one of those things I'd try to remember just because even within the same model it could vary from one year to the next. Feeling confident about knowing exceptions can lead to making a mistake if you assume you know what's in the vehicle manual.

I realize this doesn't help if a vehicle doesn't have the manual, but in those cases it's important to drop back to the basic rules, and advise the parent about the specifics of what they need to find out from their vehicle manufacturer.

In the Momentum the vehicle's headrest needs to be in the lowest position rear facing. :)

I agree with you totally about being too confident and not actually showing the parents, but I was just hoping to see about how many require that. Just for curiosities sake. :)
