6 month old FF, mom didn't respond to my e-mail

A facebook friend just put her 6 month old in a nautilus, so I messaged her telling her that she needs to be rf and gave her links explaining why. She never responded and just posted another picture of her- the top part isn't even attached and the straps are below her shoulders. Should I email again and what should I say? There's a seat check in our town this weekend, I was thinking of asking her to go...

I have found that Facebook makes me crazy that way. I have seen several "facebook friends" with their kids in totally inappropriate seats. one had their 3 year old in a backless booster sleeping and almost completely handging sideways out fo the seat .

Ask her if she'll go *with you*. "Hey, I heard that 9/10 seats are incorrectly installed -- I want to make sure J's isn't one of them! I'm going to this check, can you come with me so I don't have to go alone?"

Facebook makes me crazy that way too. My neighbor posted a picture of her four year old in a shield booster the same style my now 16 year old rode in. I tried telling her that her daughter would be better off in a high back booster and even offered to give her one, but she insisted her daughter would be less likely to be ejected with the shield. Then a relative of mine posted a picture of her 5 year old son in an evenflo big kid booster, but I noticed the booster was seatbelted in, but the kid was just sitting in the seat with nothing holding him in at all. The relative is one of those people that doesn't wear a seat belt so they don't get trapped in the car so no use talking to them. I just try to avoid looking at facebook pictures of kids in carseats now. Unless I see one done well and then I praise them.

drives me crazy . . . one of my FB friends seriously turned her 9 month old FFing months after we had an in debth discussion about RFing in which she told me that if it were not for the fact that her two year olds were already over 40lbs she would turn them . . . . . . . . UGH!!!! funny thing is that she even had a "note" about her youngest now FFing and what a milestone is was because he had such a rough start with life blah blah blah

thinking on it more, why not just send her a private message that says you can't use that seat unless her child is 1 and 20 due to state law and if she read the manual she would know that hahahahahaha

Don't say anything again. At this point, she knows she should be RF but has chosen to ignore it. She also knows you know a lot about child passenger safety. At some point, she may have a question and ask you. Then you get to help her! If you keep messaging that time will never come. You will continue to push her away.

I know it is painful to see this kind of thing. It happens all the time. I hate it. It makes me sick to see kids improperly restrained. Especially when it is a child you know and care about. All we can do is kindly tell the the proper way to restrain their children and hope they listen. ((HUGS)) I would suggest not looking at her pictures in the future.
