Recoomend a good car seat for RF in an Audi A4

Our son will be outgrowing his infant car seat. We would like to keep him RFing as long as possible (up to 40lbs) We tried the Radian XTSL at a local store and it is way too big for my car. My wife 5'4 has essentially no room to sit at the front when the seat is installed rear facing. I figure there are other forum members with "small" cars out there. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance. :)

We have an A4. I've had the Radian with the old foot in there and it sat more upright, but the new ones overrecline too much. What year is your A4?

We've had the old Britaxes in there. Our Coccoro fits wonderfully, as does our True Fit Premier. The Safety 1st Avenue worked well. However, none of those are 40 pound rear facing seats. The new Britaxes are, but a little shorter than other seats. The Safety 1st Complete Air is both tall and 40 pounds, and it should work well. I can't see a problem with the Graco My Ride or Evenflo Triumph 65 either. The Radian is just a tall seat that slumps in the A4 and can't really be sat more upright.

thanks Wendy,

Mine is a 2011 A4. Do you have any idea whether the new Evenflo sympony 65 e3 or the Recaro Proride would be good choices for us?

The Symphony should fit, though it's much shorter than the other seats I mentioned (which is important since a rear facing seat is outgrown when there's less than 1" of shell above the head). The ProRide would very likely fit, but it's a tall seat and the A4 sits low, so angling a child into the seat would be tricky without bonking their head on the doorframe. It also has the least amount of leg room of any convertible (not a safety issue, just a comfort one) which means it has the least amount of leg support forward facing. It's also one of the narrowest seats internally, so kids won't last in it as long as the specs make it sound like they should. Not unless you cut their arms and legs off. :)
