Can't tighten my 5 YO's Radian?

I noticed her RN XTSL straps have become increasingly hard to tighten. I'm not sure what is going on. It doesn't look like it's caught on anything.

Any advice? Places to look to see if it's hung up that I may be missing?

When it is installed rock the car solid, the harness threads between the Radian and the vehicle seat. (As you know.) My thoughts are twofold

1. The vehicle seat starts sinking in, basically conforming to the Radian. So, the first time you install the RN, it isn't squished in too much. But after 2 years, the vehicle seat just gives way to the RN so the harness gets squished much easier than it did in the beginning. Does that make sense to anyone else??

2. Juice, dust, dirt, crumbs...

In my car, it is easier to adjust the harness when I install with LATCH but I don't have a clue why.
