The buckles tongues on our MA have been really sticky lately and I finally discovered why!
Does anyone know how to get a melted 'fruit snack' out of the buckle?
(I dug as much out as I could and I've been running it under water....)
I think it will all come out - but do you think I need to replace the buckle?

Try using a hair dryer to heat it up. After the goo gets hot, it might be easier to clean it out.
just a thought :shrug-shoulders:

Personally I would replace the buckle, what if it didn't latch correctly because of the sticky stuff in it?
I always let the kids eat in the car...until we got the new MA, now no food or drinks...well aside from water LOL, in a sippy! I want it to stay pretty

Maybe try to take it to a car detailer, or the very least, call one. They should know what to do. I'm sure they have seen it before! I'd also call Britax to see if they have any suggestions.

i would just keep running it under water. the water won't weaken anything, including the strap. i would avoid a car detailer, as they would want to soak it in chemicals.

Well...it actually cleaned up very well with just hot tap water. (Pshew!)
I did use some baby wipes on the 'tongues' of the buckles (the metal parts) - and they are a lot better too. I haven't had any problems with it not 'clicking' it was just really sticky.
If it does start to stick, though...I'll replace it ASAP
