Anyone with Scenera RF harness issues?

from time to time our RF scenera would be really stubborn with the harness... getting caught up and not wanting to tighten, and sometimes the strap on one side would tighten but the other would be really loose.

i discovered that the problem is with the unused tether strap. cosco instructs it to be clipped to the FF foot rest (folded away for RF). but, the harness straps get sandwiched between the tether strap and the shell. if i take up all the slack on the tether so that it's nice and snug, the harness straps and splitter plate get sandwiched in too tight to slide up and down when trying to loosen and tighten the harness, and the splitter plate gets hung up on the tether strap. but if i loosen the slack on the tether strap, the harness problem goes away!

so if you have any harness sticking problems with a RF scenera, try loosening up the unused tether strap!

i just re RF my DS and now remember the biggest pain about RF being having trouble tightening the straps so what i did was take the seat out, put DS in and get the straps tight on him then install the seat and then not loosen them when i put him in and out, i just plan on uminstalling the seat if they become loose and readjusting them before putting the seat back in, once the seat is in i cant get to the part to tighten it at all

hey, thanks for the tip!!! I've had those harness issues and after reading your post, I remembered how tight I had that unused tether hooked down at the bottom of the seat.

I love this site! You guys rock!

yeah we had some issues, so instead of clipping it to the foot... I clip it to one of the holes in the shell that I believe are for latch storage(assuming you arent using it to store the latch at the moment). The holes are up by the head, where the OHS shield would be if it was.

Good tip! I am going to do that when we leave in a few minutes. I have had those problems with my RF scenera and it does drive me nuts.

Yup, I keep mine with a bit of slack in it (found that out the hard way). And on occasion one side of the harness will be tighter than the other. Since it's just one continuous loop I just pull/tug the shorter strap (down by the hips) until it's equal again.
