8yo w/ airbag...booster or no booster?

If an 8yo (tall for his age...but don't know how tall) had to ride in the front seat of an expedition with an airbag, would it be better for him to be in a HBB or not matter as long as the lapbelt fell correctly on his lap? (If your curious as to why I would do such a stupid thing, see my other thread "Need Help with Seat Arrangement...) I think I have the other kids figured out, and if everyone was going, her hubby would probably take another car...but for the child in the front would 8yo w/ or w/o a booster or a 5yo w/ a booster be a better idea?

I would put the 8yo in a booster in the front seat, with the seat moved back as far as possible IF this were the only option.

I would use a booster so the child would be better positioned height-wise in case the airbag deployed. Same reasoning for choosing the 8yo over the 5yo - the 8yo will be taller & bones will be stronger than the 5yo.

Makes sense. That's sort of the way I was leaning. I'm thinking now though that she said she doesn't have a booster for him anymore....my extra backless would at least raise him up a little...ugh, we'll see I guess.
