marathon belly-pad question

Okay...this kinda weird ;)

I just got a new-to-us cover for our marathon and the slot in the belly pad doesn't fit over the buckle.
I have tried every angle possible and it just doesn't fit. I took a quick peek to see if there was a way to undo the buckle from underneath and it doesn't look like that's possible.

Is there any way to take the buckle out to put the belly pad on from the other end?

Yes. Look at your seat's manual in the section where it talks about cleaning the buckle--it will show how to remove it from the seat.

You remove the buckle from underneath, by angling the metal clip through the slot. It comes right out.

Right you take the buckle out to remove the belly pad, otherwise it would forever be coming off. Here are instructions on how to remove the buckle from the seat.

Well, on our 2004 roundabout it is always falling off. It just slips right over the buckle, so I didn't expect this one to be any different, lol.

It is nice to know that I won't have to worry about that with this one though.

Thanks ;)

Yeah, the belly pad on my son's 05 Wizard is lost and gone forever due to the silly style they used to have. My dd's 06/07 BVs have never lost their belly pads.

LOL I always just pull really hard to get it off. I've never tried to put one back on - I guess that's where I would run into problems with my method. ;)

I don't like the belly pads at all.

Amy,

I love it

I had no idea houndstooth was so handsome. From a distance it almost looks like a rich steel blue/gray color.

Thanks so much! My ratty marathon looks brand new again
