Hope car bed

Hi. My daughter is 4 mos old, and prior to our current situation was 13lbs5oz and 24.5" long. We had been using a chicco keyfit, upgraded to a graco smart seat due to a brace she had to wear and she is now in a full body cast and unable to bend. Her legs are casted at 18" apart, so she cannot fit into a standard car bed either.

The people at merritt made her a custom hope car bed so she can be safe, contrary to the nurses telling me to just pad her head with blankets and pillows. Has anyone ever installed a hope car bed? My husband has a Honda element and I have a 2001 Hyundai elantra. I'm thinking we'll have to put it in the elantra.

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Where do you live? Maybe we can find a special needs trained tech in your area.

I live in monmouth county NJ. We were going to go to the safety officer at rutgers who has helped us in the past, but I don't know if she knows anything about this car bed.

Detailed photos and instructions for installation start on page 8.

From the instructions, you would want to put it in the vehicle that keeps her head the closest to the center of the car.

I installed a Hope car bed a couple of weeks ago, and it was super easy. :thumbsup: It's big, but it's a really nice car bed. I haven't installed it in either of those vehicles, but I bet it'll be a piece of cake.

Ditto! We were in the same class... the Hope looked intimidating, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the installation! :thumbsup:
