My parents want a set of seats in their car. Not sure which one is best. I plan to keep them RF til age 3 years, 2 months. They are 17 months now. DD is 24 pounds, 31 inches. DS is 22 pounds, 31 inches. They both are all torso. I have a set of Scenera 40s and they are on the second from top harness slot.
Sceneras are $35 at Walmart and Scenera 40s are $50. My parents have no problem buying a new seat when these are outgrown.
I do need the seats to have different seat covers (one girly, one boyish or neutral) so I can adjust the harnesses and my family will then know which kid goes in which seat. I don't know if Walmart carries more than 1 pattern.
Installation will be with LATCH, outboard in a Lexus SUV (done it with Scenera 40, it works well) and various other cars.
The seats may also be used for my neice, who is now 11 months. I am concerned that my parents may not move the harness down a slot, if necessary for her. I don't know how much more it would cost to get a seat with an easier to adjust harness? I will explain to my brother how the seat needs to be changed to accomodate his daughter, but I don't know if he will actually do it.
