I know Toyota doesnt allow bracing. Does this mean the seat can not touch the vehicle seat at all? We drive a Toyota van and there is plenty of space for me & Dh drive but my dad who is 6'3 has a hard time on the rare event he is driving.
Are there any other vehicles that dont allow it? Ive heard honda but I dunno.

I think it might just be the front passenger seat, but I might be wrong. Either way, the carseat can't touch the front seat at all says Toyota. Have you tried sliding the 2nd row seats back?

Yea its all the way back. He doesnt drive it often and since the last time he drove I removed the pool noodle for a more upright instal. So it may be fine. But I wanted to know to for any future installs.

It has more to do with advanced airbags than brand. For instance, a 2001 Nissan Xterra would allow bracing, but a 2007 Nissan Xterra wouldn't because it would screw up the airbag. So if you have advanced airbags, assume you can't touch the front seat unless the manual has no restriction against it (and it'd be in the airbag section, not the carseat section).
