Safety 1st All in One Convertible Base

I was asked at a seat check yesterday if the base of this seat can be removed (err, I know it can be removed - but the seat used without the base). The parent didn't have the instruction manual and I'm having trouble finding it online anywhere, it says its not available when I put in the info on Safety 1st's website. It's being used FF if it matters, the child is 3 and 30 pounds.

The base is gigantic and the seat is just a little easier for her to manage without it but she's unclear if Dorel allows it or not. Note the seat is the Safety 1st All in One Convertible (http://www.safety1st.com/usa/eng/Pr...2720-CC045ANX-All-in-One-Convertible-Car-Seat) - NOT the Alpha Omega.

Thanks guys!

If it is one with a removable base, then yes, it can be used without (there's a recline foot very much like the Scenera under there). The newer models of the 3 in 1 seats you cannot take the base off.

did you have a cell phone on ya? I would have quickly dialed the customer service number and asked until I got a definitive answer.

The seat in post #21 is an Intera (sp?). They are discontinued, but not all expired. Not the same seat that the OP posted.

ETA: Just went back and read that someone else already id'd it.

OP, not sure. I would have called CS. I took one out of a vehicle this past weekend, but traded it for a Maestro and didn't look back.
