Hip casts- Hippo seat wont work- OPTIONS?

I'm looking for info for someone in NJ who has a child who is in a full pelvic cast from hip surgery and apparently does not fit in the Hippo because of the cast. I'm getting 3rd hand info on this, so for all I know, they just dont know how it works and the Hippo is fine. So bear with me! I'm trying to get the child's stats now, but I'm pretty sure child is less than 4 years and less than 4 lbs.
What options are there besides the hippo for a chest to leg full cast?

Hmm... I'm surprised the Hippo doesn't work. It comes with an insert specifically for hip casts that can be positioned in a few different ways depending on the child's size and the shape of the cast. Are they working with someone who is trained in special needs seats? Pictures of the cast and/or the fit in the Hippo would be helpful, or more details about why they think it doesn't work.

If it really doesn't work, perhaps a modified EZ-On vest would work? This would allow the child to lay down in the back seat. Of course if an upright seat will work that would be most ideal.
