Parkway SGL vs Oobr

Any opinions on fit between these two? Also does either puzzle better with a RFing seat (MA70, CA65, or RN XTSL)? I don't have a location close to try them out.

My kids are:
8yrs 50" 53lbs
6.5yrs 46" 60lbs (chubby and broad)

Oldest will be in the middle, younger will be outboard (drives side)...

Thought on how either of these seats might work? I love the Oobr colors but, its a lot of money for a booster. Does anyone know how two of either of these work side-by-side?

An Oobr may not be the best choice for a "chubby and broad" child. (A Parkway may not either, to be honest. Have you considered a Monterey if you're looking for LATCHability?)

I am not necessarily looking for latchability... I was concerned with needing to fit 3 across with the Monterey. Why are the two mentioned not good for husky kids?

those are the widest points on the seats.

now, the oobr, I would say the seat itself is narrow, but the area between the armrests is wide, and even when the child continues to widen, the seat is therefore still comfortable (or at least that is what we found with the olli, which is the backless booster that has the same dimensions as the backless part of the oobr)

but the parkway sg, between the armrests, has a snug seating area.... and it gets narrower from front to back, like the old style parkway... but unlike the oldstyle, which still wasn't good for broad chunky kids, but it was more doable, the armrests start making it hard to buckle and making it uncomfortable as the child gets wider.

I would definitely be looking at the Monterey... that seat is built for broad shoulders, wide hips, you name it.

I am looking at the Monterey but I question that it is going to fit in my 3 across situation. The measurements say 19-21.5" at the top and I am just worried that all my seats won't fit :(

Thanks for the link... I can kinda see that either of the other two seats should puzzle well with the Monterey. It looks like two of the boosters would sit next to each other well.

My DS is on the shorters side, 50" at 8.5yrs and about 53lbs soaking wet. He has 2-3 clicks left on the TB I tried at BRU last night. He also needs a seat and I am torn between the Oobr and the SG/SGL for him. He is thin, still can wear a 6 in his pants. Any ideas on which might fit better with a Monterey and MA70 (possibly a Radian)? Thanks for all the help, these decision make me wanna pull my hair out!

at 8.5yrs, if you feel comfortable doing it, he could move to a backless booster, but otherwise... it depends on your car... in some cars, people find the Monterey puzzles so well with the Radian that I'd say to try him in the Monterey and, if he fits well, order a second one.

but knowing he's skinny, I want to say the probooster, though it doesn't usually work well in a 3-across because of the thick side bolsters... so I go back to the Vivo... which just fits skinny kids so well.

He is in the middle, with no headrest, so he needs a HBB. My YDD is in the MA70 or a Radian if I have to buy one (assuming it fits). He sits next to her, so his seat has to puzzle with both the convertible and the other HBB.
