FR85 Mesh FUZZ after 1 MONTH! Call Britax?

So I gave in and got DD the Pink Sky FR85 about a month ago as a seat for our vehicle. I didn't think the mesh would snag bad because, well... she doesn't wear velcro shoes often, and when she does, they don't touch the seat (and the mesh starts pretty far up).

We went to the laundromat yesterday (ETA: we didn't wash the cover, we were just at the laundromat :p the cover has never been off of the seat) and the mesh on her cover has started to fuzz quite a bit after just ONE MONTH! I can't imagine having to get years out of this thing!

Should I call Britax? Will they replace it for me? I have to call them anyway re: the bolts being loose on DD2s seat. Garrrrg.

If you washed the cover at the laundromat, you have not followed directions and Britax does not have to be responsible. They might replace out of courtesy, but IIRC the covers are hand-wash-only.

Oh no, we didn't wash it at the laundromat- it has never been taken off the seat. I meant that's where we were at the time that I noticed it ;)

Call them. I would take pictures and forward it to them. Explain like you did here and see what they say.

Yep, call them. I wouldn't be surprised if they sent you a new cover. They may even allow you the option of a non-mesh cover. Moooo. Just sayin.;)

Mooo! I wonder what DD would think of that =P We already have two CowMoo seats. Heh. I wonder what DH would think of that!

Anyways, got the seats out of the truck, took pics, will call Britax now. The DOM is 3/11!! What the heck! I'd better get a new cover. There's a little fuzzing on the headrest too =/ Maybe from DDs pigtails? Idk, but this is ridic.

So I have to e-mail photos. She's sending me another Pink Sky. Supposedly under warranty they can't send out any different cover than what you already have. Grreatttt.

I called back because I was wondering about the bolts on my MA70 (the washers turn a LOT and one bolt turns a little) and the woman I spoke to asked me about it and she's actually going to update my shipment and have them send me a LIVIA cover instead. Yayy! No mesh! I hope Livia is as pretty as it seems though.

Yes, the the bolts are supposed to have some "move"...they're like that to accomodate the recline. Now, if they fall completely out, that's not normal...and they'll send out a replacement seat.

I got my Livia FR85 today and officially evicted DD's Pink Sky FR85 from my car. FTR, it's FANTASTIC. I may have even sat in it a minute or two myself.:whistle:

I am very happy for you!! However, I am gonig to add this to my list of "are you kidding me, Britax?". Why can't their CSR all get on the same page? The first person couldn't send you a different cover but someone else can? That is really, really annoying!! They are not doing themselves any good by angering one set of people and giving the other set exactly what they want. Ugh, whatever Britax...
