How to store car seats?

I need to store 3 convertibles for my dd's. One, I will be using for when I have her dd as soon as she's big enough to fit (all are DCs or MA). The other will be going to my oldest who is only 9wks preggo. She'll get about 2yrs use out it, but in the meantime, it's sitting in my living room. I'd like to put it in my shed. And the 3rd was to go a friend with a FF 1yr old...but she hasn't picked it up yet. Should I take the harness and cover off and store them in my room and just store the shell in the shed? Or do you think it would be OK to store the whole thing in the shed? I do worry about rodents and such...but so far, it hasn't been a problem with the strollers I keep in there. Unless you count my dh's dog that ruined my P3 when he chewed up the harness!!!!!!!!!! But that access has been blocked...so no worries about canine rodents. ;) LOL

I put my infant seat and the stored Marathon in a black trash bag in our garage. I need to get the infant seat out and see if it needs any cleaning before this little one comes.

I put mine in the car seat bedroom, duh.

LOL, I have enough they could use their own bedroom! Oh wait, they do...it's the shed. It's 100% dedicated to baby gear and clothes. LOL OK, maybe not 100%....but it's what we got it for. Cheaper then adding onto the house!

What about extreme temps in a shed or garage? I'd love to put our Como for dh's truck in the garage, but I worried about it being compromised by the Texas heat. Is this a valid concern or no?

I don't see how a garage would get hotter than a closed car. In a car you have the greenhouse effect at work. In a garage, it's just a really hot room.
