Is this a pretty short booster? Dd1 is a short kid at 10 yrs old and 51in tall, she seems to be outgrowing the seat by height. Am I missing something? Is there some extra adjustment that can be made to add more height?

I find it pretty short. My ds who is 4.5 has to have it almost all the way up for the belt to fit properly. It does turn into a backless booster, though, and at age 10, I'd be perfectly fine with using it as such.

Yeah, the top position is maybe 18 inches at the highest. It's britax counterpart, the starriser comfy adjusts 2 inches higher.

That sounds about right. My short-torsoed DS outgrew it around 52".

Wow ok, well, hmmmmm, I hate backless boosters. They scare me, I just recently took the back off of my 11yr old's seat...rather reluctantly. I do think she probably has a little more time in the seat do I'm gonna milk it as long as possible!
