I am going back and fourth between the two and haven't decide. Wondering if anyone has both - or a ProSport and a Monterey that they could do side-by-side pictures of. We have a ProSport now.

This is for my Jacob too!
Which one did you end up keeping? He is only about 39lbs & 42" but we have been using the ProSport as a booster and he did awesome this week, even sleeping in it so I am considering getting him a dedicated booster.

Is he able to buckle any of them on his own? The ProSport is super tippy and because it sits tall he has a really hard time.

We picked the Monterey. It was between that and the Probooster but the PB did not have cup holders or latch.

We have both. My dd (7, 50+ inches, 50+ lbs) sits in the Monterey. DS (just turned 6, 44ish inches, 40ish lbs) sits in the probooster in dh's vehicle. I MUCH prefer the fit of the probooster with my ds. The shoulder belt fit with the Monterey is just not that great with smaller kids in my opinion. It fits my dd MUCH better than it did 2 years ago when she was much smaller. It tends to fit small kids a bit to close to the edge of the shoulder for my comfort.

We LOVE the Monterey. I love that it has LATCH, I love that it is super duper comfy, nice deep seat, great sip, great cup holders. But, I just cannot do it for my ds when the probooster is a MUCH better fit for him. I'm bummed that it does not have cup holders or LATCH but it is ok in dh's vehicle. PLUS, the Monterey continues to have issues with the side wings coming out. They sent me a new back to the Monterey and it still does it. When the side wings move out the fit becomes even worse.

Ooh I am glad you mentioned that. He is kind of a peanut and moving to a booster is a huge step for me. But he is old enough and he has done very well so far. I wanted to keep him in a harness because he is small but am finally grasping the idea that he is still safe in the right booster, if he can use it right. He is so excited that I am letting him try it, he buckles in and doesn't move. :p The cup-holders are not a huge issue for him as he will be in the 3rd row of the van and has a cup-holder there. Plus we ban most beverages in the car anyway.

you could also consider the vivo... it isn't as likely to be tippy in the seats where the probooster is... and it fits skinny kids amazingly well...

I loved the Monterey for Jeffrey, who has the shoulders of a linebacker, but for petite Ruthanne, it just was not remotely the right seat... even when the belt fit got to be OKAY (right when Jeffrey outgrew it, but almost a year after she'd outgrown the harness of the nautilus when she'd needed to move to boostering full time), she just seemed like she was swimming in the seat. She fits SO well in the Vivo... it's the best one for her. I'm sure the probooster would fit her well, too, but of course, one other thing we like about the vivo is the short seat pan... she has short thigh bones and even now, at 4' tall and 52lbs, her knees are only 3" MAX past the edge of the seat... when we got it for her, her knees just came to the ege (aka... her recent growth has been in legs)... and the probooster has a longer seat pan.
