My Guardian "restraint"

I searched and didn't see that anyone had mentioned this um thing. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/My-Guardian-Safety-Restraint-Accessory/dp/B004L98I0A"]Amazon.com: My Guardian - Child Safety Restraint Car Seat Accessory Small 20-32 Lbs: Baby[/ame] Its supposed to keep the child from sliding down the chest clip. On the surface it seems clever and like a good idea but something in the back of my head is screaming that its seriously unsafe. Would it be? I mean besides the fact that its an aftermarket product and hasn't been crash tested. Thankfully DS doesn't try to escape his seat but if he did I'd just use a button up shirt because I'm cheap. Opinions on this thing?

I don't think it looks to terribly bad. It does not seem to interfer with the top of the harness. In fact it looks like a small fleece jacket. It looks like it could be hot in the summer though. Overall I don't think it looks to terribly unsafe. However I would have to see it in person to see how thick it is & how is actually works on the seat to say if I was comfortable using it or not.

Yeah comparative to other aftermarket product it seems much less unsafe. It says its cotton but yeah it looks like it would be really hot in the summer. I was just wondering if it was one of those things that parents could be told its not approved but you may make the decision to use it or if it was a no way kind of thing.

Yeah, I agree. It looks like it would be something that would be a good option to keeping a child from pushing down the chest clip if it is thin enough. I think it really is something that one of us would have to see & play with to know 100% feelings on it though.
