Which one a CA or FR85?

OK i have narrowed it down to either a CA or FR85? which one would you get, my dd is 3yrs old 33.5 lbs, 40 inches tall and seated height is 13.5-14 inches, if we get the CA i want the 45lb rfing one, she has been asking to face back again cause ffing hurts her legs, which one would you get if you were in my shoes? i dont want to be buying another carseat in a year.

Just so you know the CA only goes to 40lbs RF. I have both seats and l really like them so I am of no help there.

If she wants to RF the Frontier is out since it is a FF only seat. As pp said the CA rear faces to 40#. The only seats that RF to 45 are the Radian 80SL and XTSL. At her age RF is still so beneficial so if shes asking I'd say GO FOR IT

Even if you don't switch her to RF, the CA is still a great option for FF because of the tall shell. I'd imagine your daughter can ride in the CA for another 2-3 years or until you're ready to booster her.

Last year, I got a CA for my son who was 3.5 years old and FF. It was much cheaper than buying another FR. Also, I prefer to buy a dedicated booster when he's ready and insure it's a great fit rather than using the booster that's part of a combo seat because who knows how that fit will be when he's ready to booster-train.

I would say CA as well. While I didn't like the seat when it first came out, I love it now that they made some changes so the straps aren't twisty.
I have the CA 65LX and honestly think it is the last seat I will buy until DD is ready to booster. DD is almost 3 1/2, 29lbs and 38" - she has TONS of growing room rear facing.

At 33-34 lbs your DD should still get tons of use in a seat with a 40 lb rear facing limit.

I would get her the CA and rearface her until 40lbs. the top slots are about 18.5" tall, so it will last her until she's ready for a booster at age 6+
