Does honda install tether anchors for free.

I know dodge does since they installed a free one for me in my old car.

My in laws have a 97 or 98 honda accord that I would like to get one installed in.

No. They don't.

Here is the info I have collected from this board:

Part number is the same for all Honda models and is called a "Plate Assembly." In the owner's manual, the part is called "anchor plate and mounting hardware." Retail price is approximately $13.00. The tether anchor kit contains an all-in-one bolt, anchor plate, and spacer. The bolt has a rounded top and is not marked metric or English.

Tether anchor kit instructions: Detailed installation directions are in the owner's manual, not with kit.

Tightening the bolt: the bolt should be tightened to a 16lb-ft torque (22Nm). If a torque wrench is not used, the instructions say to contact the Honda dealer to verify proper installation.

$13 is doable.
I'll have to order one for their car then and have my fil install it.

My dh installed the ones in our Civics in less than 5 minutes. The holes are there, just put the pieces in order and tighten. Super easy!
