Question True Fit Premier "Retro Geo" (2010) and "Bionic Splash" 2010

Hello all,

I have a couple unusual questions for anyone out there who has a True Fit Premier, especially someone with the Bionic Splash or 2010 Retro Geo covers.

I have a neurological condition that causes me to have problems (parts of my field of vision disappear) whenever I have to look at (for longer than a few seconds) small stripes or repeating patterns that are in high contrast. For example, black and white pinstripes are a nightmare for me.

I am on the verge of buying a True Fit Premier for my son, but I am having a difficult time finding clear pictures of some of the colors/covers. I don't care a whole lot about which color I get (though I'm not a big fan of pink/brown), but I do care about how much I pay, and it appears there is a huge price spread depending on the color/cover one gets.

Right now I'm looking at the carseat in the Splash:

and in the 2010 Retro Geo:

However, for both, I'm concerned that the carseats might have too high a contrast -- the outer portion in the Splash and the inner portion in the Retro Geo.

Can anyone who has one of these seats give me some input? Is the pattern on the Retro Geo black on white or is it a light grey on white or somewhere in between? Does anyone have a picture they can post? Or does someone know of a high resolution pic either in the forums or elsewhere online?

What about the outer portion of the Splash -- how high a contrast is that in real life? Does the outer fabric have tiny holes in it, that allow you to see through down to another fabric? If so, have those holes made it harder to keep clean?

And if anyone else has a cover that is low contrast, I'd love to know about it, as it seems like many of the current covers have tiny patterns or pinstripes.

Thanks!

Jennifer

How old/heavy is your son? I ask because on the retro geo, the pattern is on the infant insert, the head support pillow, and on the piping around the edge. Once the infant insert is out (I no longer use mine, which says remove at 22lbs though I believe there have been differing recommendations regarding it), what's underneath is solid gray. I do still use the head support but I'm not sure how much support it actually gives.

The pattern itself is black rounded square outlines on a white or very light gray background. I have some pictures I could show you or can run out and take more shortly, if someone else can't post in that time. I'm currently stuck under a sleeping baby. :)

Here's the retro geo without the infant padding

I think the pink polka dotty is the same type of thing with brown on the outside and pink inside.

He woke up. This isn't a great picture but is the first one I found that will show you the pattern.

You can see the plain gray underneath it. Let me know if there are any other pictures that would help.

Here are pics of the Bionic Splash with and without the infant padding. The infant padding is just solid gray. The polka dots are turquoise color on the black background.

If you do opt for the Bionic Splash pattern, Dealomite.com has it for $147.20. This is where I bought the one pictured (but later sold to someone on here). If you don't mind that the DOM may be 9-12 months old, it's a steal.

Oh, thank you! This has been immensely helpful! Splash, which looked relatively low contrast on the Dealomite website, looks like it will be too much for me. I'm so happy to know that now, rather than upon opening a box....

However, my son is, in fact, 2 years old and around 25-27 pounds, so, yay! The Retro Geo -- without the insert -- will work just fine for us. Fantastic!

Thanks so much for everyone's help!
