road trips and falling asleep

The other day, we were driving home from school/work, and Liv fell asleep in the car. I looked in my rear view mirror, and she was leaning completely out of the seat, (FN booster) just kinda dangling by the shoulder belt.

So as any calm rational mother would do, I freaked out and started screaming at her to wake her up.

We're going on a 12 hr road trip next month, and now I'm thinking of putting the harness back in the FN. But the slots are seriously close to her shoulders. I thought they were below, but after checking a little more closely, the cover does make them look lower than they really are. It was hard to tell though exactly where they were in relation to her shoulders, so I'm going to have to take a closer look this weekend when I have time.

Cross fingers for me!!!!

Do your vehicle seats recline any? Popping them back a notch might allow her enough recline that her head stays upright? Certainly putting it in recline mode with the harness would make it way more comfy reclined, I hope she fits! (we need a 'fingers crossed' icon, lol)
