booster cutting off circulation ?

OK a family member has 5 yr old 50 something pound dd. She states when the belt is routed under the arm rest it cuts the circulation off in her legs and when they use the back on the booster it makes her legs swell and her back hurt. She does have a leg issue but I am not too sure of all the details. She really wants to find a seat that she can use the right way.
I told her to try to find something she can rest her feet on blanket or the cooler thing Styrofoam. Why would the belt cut off circulation?
Any high back remediations that is more comfy. I do not know what they have know probably evenflo or a turbo.

I have a VERY hard time believing that it's the booster or the seat belt that are causing the issues, especially if she has a medical problem already regarding her legs. The seat belt should only be RESTING on her hips/upper thighs, not cinched down on her. A deep booster and proper foot support are pretty much all that can be done, and you've suggested options for that.

Just curious, but did she have these issues in the harnessed car seat? I can't imagine how it would only be happening in a booster...

I dont know they live away from us and just know seeing them more as the dd goes to the same drs that my dd does for her hand issue but its for her leg. They just found out that she has some type of bone diesase that is very rare. I dont know all the details. Do any high backs have extra comfort foam in the back area I know the my Cargo had foam all the way up the back but it sucks as a booster

Why not put her back in a harness? With leg issues you would want her to be as comfortable as possible. If she is not she is most like going to move all around which would not be good in the booster.

I dont know about the harness thing. They are really tight on money and the only seat that would last a little while would be the Frontier. When she was down last yr she weighed over 60 but since shes going to pre k she has lost some weight.

They are about 158.00 at walmart these days.

I would just be worried about her being fidgety if she is not comfortable.

I am sorry. I meant the GN. My son is nearly 7, 57 pounds and is harnessed presently. The lowest price I have found for a FR85 is 203.00 and it is online only.

I highly doubt that any booster is cutting off circulation, unless they are somehow completely forcing the belt to an unusually tight place (locking it and forcing it extra tight, type of thing).

BUT

It is more possible that the dangling legs are causing a bit of NERVE compression which leads to tingly / painful / "sleepy" legs.

And the best cure for that is having something to rest your feet on, so there isn't so much pressure on the back of your legs.

My dd complained of tingling legs in her vivo the day we were stuck, sitting on the freeway for 2 hours. (Due to a an accident that was firing ammunition.) I figured she just needed leg support.

The GN wont work she has sat in mine just in the car and shes way to wide.
Are there any booster with extra padding in the back area I know the Probooster and Vivo and the Sunshin kids have a layer of foam in the butt but I dont see any thing for the back?
The Turbo elites have and extra layer of padding that goes on the outside of the seat I wonder if that is cushie.
