Evenflo big kid or sport owners!

Could you please check your manual? I've heard that vehicle support up to the child's ears is now required for high back mode. I need to know if this is true. The person who found it just bought a new evenflo booster a few days ago, so this could be a new rule.

I have an evenflo big kid booster that was bought a few weeks ago. The manual doesn't say anything about it, BUT on the side of the seat it says "with back support use only for children whose ears are below the top of the vehicle seat headrests" So it seems to imply it does require support up the the child's ears.

I just bough a Big Kid Sport and it only states"Ears below the top of the vehicle headrest" in the without backrest position. It also states the same exact thing on the side of my seat.

Here is what it says on the side of my Evenflo Big Kid Sport.

This means that WITHOUT the backrest on, the top's of the child's ears must be below the top of the car's seat or headrest.

It does NOT mean that the Big Kid Sport requires support from the vehicle seatback w/the backrest on. It is stating what best practice is for all of us--there should be head support of some kind up to the tops of the ears (and making it a "rule" for the seat when used backless).

I do have a concern though about it though--if people think that their child is too tall to ride in the seat in their car b/c of the headrest, they may choose not to use a booster. Personally (I'm not a CPST), if there are no other choices such as use a different high back booster, a different vehicle, or don't go at all, using the backless booster w/the tops of the ears over the seatback is probably safer than not using a booster (esp when looking at the taller, thinner 6-7 yrs olds).

Christine, I messaged you a copy of the downloadable instructions from Evenflo.... again, nothing about having to depend on vehicle head support in highback mode.

I am only posting about it here because I wonder if you got my message... otherwise, I can post the link to it here for you.

Do you have a link to the Big Kid Sport instructions, or just the regular Big Kid?
I am still missing the instruction link to the Sport in the measurements/data spreadsheets and would love to get it updated with a link if you have one.

I have the regular Big Kid link already:
https://plweb.evenflo.com/ShowDocument.aspx?ManualID=715
though let me know if it needs updating.

just the regular... I need a DOM to get the Sport one... I tried making up one, but failed miserably... I got a model number from walmart, I just need a good DOM (assuming it isn't just that they aren't up yet)

Well after trying for 20 minutes to get the link I give up. Here is the DOM for my DS's Evenflo Big Kid Sport:

it didn't list one or give numbers for replacement parts... so it must just be they don't have the links yet... thanks, though, so now I know why it is.

do you have the manual for his?? I'm really tempted to go to walmart and read one on the seat (because the website says they should be in stock at my walmart), but doubt I'll bother doing that because of gas prices.

if no one posts back with a definite answer, though, I'll gladly email evenflo!
