OMG even my 6yo knows better!

I was driving the other day and I saw the craziest carseat mis-use I have seen in a looong time! We were sitting at a stop light and my 6yo goes "MOM! those kids are way too big for their carseats!!". So I look over at a older mom with two kids in Britax marathons in the backseat. It was a boy and a girl and the boy looked about 5 and the girl looked about 7. Both of their heads were well over 10" over the top of the shell. I kept trying to get a look into the back seat to see how the straps could even fit them and they were over their shoulders but you could tell the actual slots were well below their shoulders...the kids looked like they were "stuffed" into the car seats. They didn't even have headrest behind their poor little heads. I lost the mom in traffic but I was fully prepared to follow her and have a chat if she pulled into somewhere public. Ughhh it was bad!!

Talk about gross misuse of excellent car seats! And she probably thinks she is doing them a favour because they are still in harness seats! They would both be safer with boosters!

Wow, usually it's the other way around (tiny kiddos in boosters). Go figure, I didn't even know there would be someone out there who would go the other way. I agree with PP, she was probably thinking it was good because they were still harnessed...
