My parents will be keeping the kids on Memorial Day weekend while DH and I are at a conference. It will be the first time Mom and Dad will have all three at one time over night. The only car my parents have that the kids can fit in is a Lincoln LS (their other cars are a pick-up truck and a Miata) so they'll have to be three across. I am thinking of what car seat and configuration will be the easiest for my parents to use correctly while they have the kids. I'm actually thinking of turning Levi FFing just for the weekend to make it easier for Mom and Dad to buckle him in. It's not ideal, and I don't plan for him to ride FFing in our cars for quite sometime. I'd rather Mom and Dad be able to strap him in correctly (tightly enough and with the straps over his shoulders). He'll be two weeks shy of 2yo.
My other option is to really work with my 10 year old on helping to correctly put Levi in the car seat. He is able to get Levi situated in the seat (he likes to help on occaision, especially as I'm loading groceries), but doesn't always get everything tight enough, so I always double check. I'm just not sure about putting that kind of responsibility on a 10 year old. KWIM?
