MyRide65 steal deal....or not so great?! help!!

OK, so of course while I was at toysrus I had to take a stroll by the carseats

and what did my eyes behold?? A MyRide 65 marked down to $69.90 so I immediately start inspecting to see if anything is wrong with it for that price since it is my current dream seat for DH car. All tags, registration card, etc. are still attached; the straps are a little dusty from sitting on the floor, but seems to be okay. I asked about it and apparently it was floor model in discontinued pattern. It doesn't look abused at all like a lot of floor models do but thought I read a thread here a bit ago about selling display models. Is this a sweet deal or should I run quickly away from it? Only thing I dislike is DOM is 2/25/2010 so its just over a year old which sucks but such a good price. Help!!

they're holding it for a few hours for me so I have to decide soon.

You shouldn't buy a floor model. They have likely been dropped several times, etc. They could have damage you can't see.

If I remember correctly there is a difference between display and floor models. What that difference is Im not 100%. I would scoop it up! If you get it home and notice anything funny or dont feel okay about using it you can always return it tomorrow. :twocents:

If the tags are all still on it, it likely has only been looked at and not actually used. I would inspect and possibly buy.

This. Inspect it really well when you get home. If you don't like it return it.. but that is a great deal.

I scooped it up

I figured I can always return it within the return period if I change my mind. For that price, I just couldn't walk away upon my store inspection findings considering it was not only the seat I wanted but the color too! Going to take a closer look later. I installed it before heading home just so it wouldn't be lose in the car and was impressed to find it fit very nicely and easily next to DS Advocate70. We didn't think anything would fit next to that thing! It was also a breeze to install. I must also say that this was the first time installing any seat in my car (first time installing a MR too) since completing my CPST course last week and it was rock solid

felt so good to be sure of myself!

I wouldn't trust my child's life to a floor model. :twocents:

I can't imagine the seat itself getting damaged but the tags being left intact. I've never seen a floor model with the tags still on it, even at our WM where they're bolted to a shelf that's 4.5' high.
