Good Idea? Or not..

So I have bigger boys and so I am not really familiar with many of the convertible seats or infant buckets..

So I was thinking that maybe when I see some good deals on CL I would buy them just to play with and see if I can install them and then either destroy them or save them until the next BRU trade in..

I am not going to spend a lot.. But I was thinking it may help me? I have the Grand caravan with latch everywhere and tethers.. and I have a 2 dr ford explorer no latch.. to do installs in..

Again, Not going to spend a fortune, but Just thought it may help me?

Whatcha think?

I like my way because I make money off the seats I buy. I buy new seats at amazingly low deals, play with them, then sell them for less great deals. Everyone wins:) When I see car seats offered on freecycle, I ask for them too. Sometimes I get them and sometimes not.

I do this with garage sales too. Except most of those are expired. I don't pay more than $5/seat. The same goes for CL. If the cover's in good shape, you can usually sell it for a little bit of money too.

Hmm.. never thought of the cover thing.. That is a bonus.. I don't want to buy a lot of new seats. I don't have the storage to keep them perfect.. But I have a huge shed in the back so I could strip the covers of the older seats and just put them there until I traded them in or destroyed them..

I troll CL and try to get all the free carseats/boosters that I confirm are expired and destroy them. I do the same with seats for sale, but I don't spend more than $10-$15. I've never bought a seat to play with/re-sell, but that's actually not a bad idea...
