Orbit Baby changes its weight limits on Infant Seat G2 and Toddler Seat

Infant Seat G2 now is rated 4-30 pounds, 19-32 inches. This new weight rating applies to all Orbit Baby Infant Car Seat G2s (Model No. ORB823000) purchased in the past or future. It applies to all Infant Car Seat G2s when used on their own or on an Orbit Baby Car Seat Base G2 (Model No. ORB822000).

Toddler Seat now is rated 15-35 lbs rear-facing, and 20-65 lbs and 50 in forward-facing.

This new weight rating applies to all Orbit Baby Toddler Car Seats (Model No. ORB807000) purchased in the past or future. Note that the Toddler Car Seat’s rear-facing weight rating remains the same, at 15-35 lbs.

This weight rating increase is not applicable to Orbit Baby generation-one Infant Car Seats (Model No. ORB803000), or the Orbit Baby Infant Car Seat G2 when used on the generation-one car seat Base (Model No. ORB802000).

The weight rating increases apply to all Orbit Baby Infant Car Seat G2’s (Model No. ORB823000) and Toddler Car Seats (Model No. ORB807000) in all available colors.

The weight rating increases apply to car seats used in the following markets: United States, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico, Russian Federation, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates.

So now we have the first cross-border certified seat, with different weight limits in different countries? The old limits still apply in Canada. I wonder if the governments are aware of the disparity yet.
