Update to WWYD - Good Outcome

Well this morning I was talking to the mother of the little girl I was concerned about how Grandma was using her carseat. I asked her if she knew how her MIL had been using the seat and I explained to her what I saw and that it is really unsafe and the mother was really responsive and didn't know that the MIL was doing that. The other little girls Mom, confirmed what i was talking about and said she told her to put it in right. (the grandma picks up both girls) So, I was standing with DS waiting because we walked up to school and were really early and the Grandma drove up, I could see what the problem was. The harness was still in the 2nd to top slots for a 3 almost 4 yr old. So when she got out of her van, I asked her if I could fix her seat and she says, Can it be fixed. I said yah, the harness just needs to be moved up to give her more room, I offered to install it, but she did, it seemed to be a good install. So I saved a little girls life today :D Good outcome, boy was I shaky when I was talking to the mom. Just didn't know how she would react. She is buying her a booster, cuz she is 35 lbs, but I chose to pick my battle one at a time.

Isn't it nice to get a postive responce once in a while?! Good job! Now you can work on the booster seat issue. Since she is responsive, how about,
"I remember you were saying something about getting your dd a booster seat, and I just found out about this cool seat, insert HWH Seat here, it would keep her harnessed, and therefore safer than in a booster, for a little longer...." ? It's hard confronting other parents when you don't know how they will react, but since you all ready get one positive responce, I think it's worth trying to go a little deeper! Good luck!:)
