Questions about Safety 1st Go

I did play witht he seat briefly a couple years ago. But now I'm wondering some things..... Because the seat doesn't have a firm back, does the harness height depend on the car it's placed in? In my head this is how it would work.... if the car has lower seat backs, the GO harness couldn't go up as high. Am I thinking this correctly?
