If anyone else is dealing with this, could you explain to me how to move them to another service without having to do it one by one? I'm lost.

Oh No!!! I have a few hundred photos on there too. I can't believe they're closing after they just upgraded the whole thing. And why did I first hear of this here and not from them??

Please post if you find a way to transfer them.

Great, I only have...ya know a few hundred pics over there. But they do have ways to move them. Argh!

 I don't have photos at Yahoo Photos, but I can imagine that this is how I'd feel if oh, say, Shutterfly decided to just disappear - I have more than a few hundred over there.

I know PhotoBucket has a way to transfer pics from another online service in batches, but I have only recently used them and only because of this and a couple of other forums (for image hosting), so I don't remember the exact specifics, just that it can be done. I hope you can get your pictures transferred without too much hassle on your part!

As of this morning there still wasn't a way, but I haven't logged into yahoo or yahoo photos since I've been home from work.
There will be away, according to the FAQ's at yahoo. Are you using the newer version of yahoo photos? There is a little blue or purple box toward the right of the screen that says "Have you heard the news"

I actually heard a blurb about it on GMA Monday morning. I'm okay with it, it's just a PITA to have to move. I signed up for Flikr, but I think I'm just going to transfer over to a new photobucket account. Just 'cause. lol

When is Yahoo! Photos closing?</QUESTION><!-- end question --><!-- begin answer -->

<ANSWER>Yahoo! Photos will begin the process of closing later this summer and will officially close this fall*, after you have had time to move your photos.
After we close, we will delete all photos** that have not already made the move somewhere else, so it will be important you’ve chosen from the options available – moving to another service, downloading your photos, or buying an archive CD (for users of the New Yahoo! Photos only).

What are my options if I want to keep my photos?</QUESTION><!-- end question --><!-- begin answer -->

<ANSWER>If you want to keep your photos (and we think most of you might), then you’ll need to choose from a few options by this fall. Don’t worry – there’s nothing you need to do now, but later this summer you’ll be receiving an email asking you to make a decision about your photos.
Move your photos: Select from among the photo sharing services offered (Flickr, Kodak Gallery, Shutterfly, Snapfish, and Photobucket) and they will move the photos for you. You’ll need to verify your Yahoo! account information and either create a new account or login with an existing account at that other service, but beyond that they’ll take care of the rest.

As far as I can tell, they haven't yet given us a tool to do the transfering with, just yet.

It's not that big of a deal for me, I mean yes, there are ...hundreds of pictures uploaded there, but I DO have them all burned to CD's and DVD's...so they aren't my only copy. But it was nice to have them online already.

Though, recently, yahoo photos has sucked, so, there is that. lol. (It wouldn't let me email pics for a long time).
