What do you know about this seat?

I probably could have put this out on the main board, but this seat isn't out yet.

It's the maxi cosi mico. I have someone asking me about it on my mommy board. I've never seen the seat other than on the website. It looks like it has a 3 pt harness, which knocks it right away for me.

Did anybody see it at JPMA or LifeSavers?

How do you think install will be?

Thanks
Susan

I love the look of the green ... but I'd never spend $150 on a 3-point, especially not one that baby would outgrow in just a few months!

According to the website, it's a 5pte. I want to see the base though. And I wonder if it has a canopy...

Well, this is what it says about the canopy...

Most infant car seat carriers have a bulky retractable sun canopy that can get in the way. The Mico, on the other hand, has an elastic canopy that tucks away neatly behind the seat and attaches to the carrier handle when the sun is out and baby needs some shade.

Guess that means no canopy in the car...it's like the old Evenflo Joyride. Bummer. Still want to see the base. I do like that it has an indicator to tell you whether or not the seat is attached to the base properly.

I don't think it's anything new. It looks just like the Cabrio, which is what my BIL (in Estonia) was borrowing from a friend for his newborn dd before my in-laws brought th safeseat 1 over to him.

No need to criticize the photo (one pad, loose harness, straps above shoulders), they don't even have a car atm and use it as a carrier/rocker/etc...but they will soon be getting one and they have a brand new safeseat 1 and the low down on how to adjust the harness and use it properly.

She's only 7 weeks old, so it doesn't look like it would last very long.

My guess is the photos are still by European specs...I'm sure the US version will have a chest clip.

And just to clarify, chest clips aren't required here, we've just gotten used to them so most seats come with them now. :)

That is a very, very cute baby. :p

Is it possible that the US version will have a different name, such as the Mico? It will have different features (5pte, chest clip etc).

The listed features, did say it was a 5 point harness, and that it goes from 5-22 lbs, and it goes to 29". Although, considering they didn't even get the name right, they could have got that wrong too. But I could see if the straps were really tight in the picture the crotch padding could hide the lap portion of the belt.

I do love the covers though. Graco really could learn a thing or two! I would love the pink flower seat on a SS1!

It would be better with the EU Specs.. The EU version goes to 13kg (28.9lbs) and 29ins... The cabrio isn't a small seat, they are just cheaping out on the weight limit.. The European base is HUGE and HEAVY! See the Cabrio and easybase here at www.babycare.nl
