True fit tether hook problem

Is it a safety issue? I've never even used the tether. I turned the seat forward once just to take a picture of it. I didn't tether it. I noticed the other day, though that the thin piece lays flat against the hook. I know others have had the same problem. Is it a safety issue at all? (Assuming I wanted to put it forward facing, anchored, that is.)

No, as long as the hard piece of the tether hook (the actual hook itself) is not deformed, it's fine. You can contact the manufacturer and they will send you a fix kit. It's a small plastic piece you attach to the tether to push the flexible piece of the tether closed.
