this is my nephew and he is 5 months old and about 30" tall. He has my sons hand-me-down graco safe seat and is fast approaching the ht. limit! how much longer would you keep using this seat for him? His extra seat is a myride but do you think my sister will need to invest in a truefit or radian to keep him rfing until 3?

Wow. Hes got a torso on him. My kids are both in the 99th percentile for height and my youngest made it to about 14 months in our safeseat. How much does he weigh? I would have her look in to either the true fit, radian, or complete air.

hmmm i think he is about 16lbs. his wt. is average but he is super long! he wears 12 month-18month clothes for the length. it's no suprise though b/c my sister is almost 6' tall and her husband is even taller than her :)

I'd get him a Radian or a Complete Air. He's got a giant torso! My 19 month old just outgrew the SS1 and he has a big torso!

I'd get him a truefit or complete air... they are both taller than the Radian... that is one tall boy (his legs do not look super short, so it's not JUST a long torso)

however, for now, I'd measure that 1" and put a sticker there... when he covers the sticker... order the seat.

thanks for the opinions :) How does a CA fight rfing in the back of a sedan type car? They have a Ford Fusion and obviously both my sister and her husband need a lot of leg room up front! :) they only have the one baby now so I guess it wouldnt be a problem but jus to know for the future if they did need to put his carseat rfing in a outboard seat?

I have a CA in the center of a Cavalier, which is pretty small. The front seats are not all the way up but not all the way back, either. They do have to be pretty upright, though.

I've never tried installing in the outboard seats.

Holy torso! DS is only on slot 2 of the SS not even close to needing the 3rd! He is 10 months, but very leggy!

I agree with the others for seat recommendations :)

That's insane! I'm currently using the SR32 for a kid who is 2 next week and is still on the middle slots- a solid inch below the top slots!!!

Wow, what a big boy! I agree with the 3 recs, Truefit, CA and Radian. I've seen pics of the CA in a Toyota Corolla, so it does fit pretty upright, and in pretty small cars.

Since he's fairly thin a TF might be a good choice, otherwise a Radian or a CA.

My little guy outgrew his safeseat at 6 months. He is now 12 months and I just put him back in his RA55 aned he has like 2 inches left  SO we are going back to a Radian whenever I get the money
