I attended my first check today...

...and it was perfect!
The dad had followed the manual exactly, which I thought was great considering he hasn't used a car seat since his 20yo's were babies!
It was tight, correct angle, no twisted straps, headwings at correct height, and no aftermarket products!
Just goes to show that reading the manual gets you a long way...

I hope you impressed on him how great of a job he did... so he could have the confidence to help those adult kids when they have kids.

Certainly did, although I'm sure he could tell by the look on my face

I told him how many people just don't read the manual, or read it and ignore it, and that by him doing the right thing, he has made his son as safe as possible in the car
