Question What to do with my RN65

I have an older RN65. I have to double check the DOM for sure, but it still has a few years on it. It's been my backup seat, and the one I use for my nephew when I have him, but I've replaced it now with a new RA55.

Problem is, I don't feel comfortable selling it or giving it away. The harness straps have started fraying a bit from the older style buckle tongs. I know you can't replace the harness straps, right? I was ok using it as a backup, because it's really not that bad right now, but I can see it getting worse with excessive use, so giving it to someone who would be using it daily wouldn't fly with me.

I don't want to keep it because I don't need it anymore and I don't have room to store it. And I don't want to toss it because it still works. And I don't want to be responsible for allowing someone else to use it.

(If you're noticing a trend with me... yeah, I have a problem throwing things away! lol)

What would you ask for it? I will find new harness straps. I am in desperate search os a seat for a friend for her son who has outgrown his current seat and is flat broke.

I'd rather see a kid in your older radian than an expired shield seat or something.

You can not change straps on the older ones.

I would call SK and see what they can do.

I saw some old style Radian straps on swap and figured I could locate a pair somehow. He is in an outgrown seat now. Even minor fraying would be better than his current situation.

The original Radians have harnesses that can not come out. Also you can not put new ones in.

If you know a tech anywhere near you who needs one, so you could give it to them as a demo, that might be good. I barely use mine anymore, but hang onto it because it's still the same 'shape' as a new one, and since there's no stores that carry it, I like to have it to try out in people's cars. Maybe offer it 'free for shipping' in the Swap section?
