They were given to a friend for her 3yo to use- expired in 2002 and 2004 I think:eek:

She calle dme and asked if I'd like to play/demo/destroy them:love::love:

So now they sit in my laundry room naked while I wash the disgusting covers and harnesses. ( Disclaimer: I"m only washing them to use for DEMO purposes)

So, tell me about these, they have no stickers:thumbsdown:

30# RF, 40#FF. One of the first higher-weight RF seats (believe it or not). Twisty as heck straps, TALL top slots for it's age.

PITA to install. You get virtual cookies from me if you can get a tight install RF with an infant recline :)

It was often called the "DumbMove". Need I say more?

:ROTFLMAO::ROTFLMAO:

I googled it and read it was next to impossible to install that way, I guess the recline mechanism is defective??? I'll try it once its clean. Just gota new car yesterday and these suckers were DISGUSTING.

Other than the nearly impossible RF install, they at least had the right idea with high harness slots and a higher RF weight limit I guess.

The idea was that it could be installed at more than 45 degrees for a newbie. Then in an accident, it'd rotate up to 45.

But it was next to impossible to install it with <1" of movement and NOT pop it out of recline altogether.

I got to know one in the backseat of a late 90's Mercury Cougar/Ford T-bird. Think deep bucket sports-car seats. It's a meeting I never want to experience again.

I was able to install one at the proper infant angle in my completely flat backseat of my base model 01 Escape. Other than that, what a PITA. For Century, it truly was a toss up for worst installation between the SmartMove and the Breverra.

Along with the 30lb rfing limit, it was also one of the, if not the, first seat with EPS foam. I got one for my now 13 yr old when he was about 6 months old. I doubt I ever had that thing installed correctly rfing, but it certainly wasn't for lack of trying! It was actually the seat that helped me find my first carseat message board so I guess it wasn't all bad:p.

Yes, I bought 2 of them because of the EPS foam and higher RF limit, for my now 12 yo. One was a 5 point, the other was an OHS style. I thought I had a good install in our Dodge Caravan, but that was a long time ago.

I rescued one back in December from my church's thrift shop. I put my 2.5year old in there and he was right at the top slots. I didnt attempt to install it but it was fun to play with in the house.

I had one for my 12yo DS. IIRC I didn't have any problems installing it RF. I had a 1990 Toyota Corrolla at the time.

Too funny--we had one for my niece. I never had any problem installing it in my Chevy Blazer (older 2 door one that I drove at the time). I'm sure it wasn't perfect and didn't rock the car, but it was in there correctly rearfacing. The mechanism for rearfacing seemed to work properly. I really liked it! I kept my niece rearfacing in my car as long as I could in that seat--she was so long torsoed that I think she lasted until 18 mos. (-:
