Wait...what? (Evenflo bucket)

So I was looking at the expiration date on my Evenflo Discovery because I plan to give it to someone else. (don't freak out yet)

My mom bought it for me last May because she thinks I'm a terrible parent for putting a baby in a convertible instead of a bucket  and I've used it maybe 3 times when I went in someone else's car.

Anyway I was expecting it to expire in 5 or 6 years but the expiration date on it says 2018. I didn't think car seats were good for that long? (especially not Walmart specials:eek:)

Someone elsewhere claimed their eta had an 8 year lifespan on it too. I wonder if evenflo changed? Evenflo has also been known to make mistakes with expiration dates. I had a few that had 5 year expiration dates.

The Serenade, new last year, has an 8 year expiration. Maybe they went to it across the board for their buckets?

Maybe. It has to be just for their buckets because we just bought a pair of Tributes for our flight to New Zealand, and they have a 2016 expiration even though they were manufactured on January 6th this year. (And I bought them on the 9th, this thrilled me to no end  lol)

I was so caught off guard by the 8 year expiration that I went and looked at my 2 year old's "dolly seat" (an old EF Embrace) that I thought was expiring this year. It only had a manufacture date (Aug 05) but it's broken so even if I was sure it hadn't expired, it wouldn't be getting used anyway.

We have Evenflo discovery buckets and embrace. Both models have a exp. date of 2016. I haven't heard anything about an 8 year date.

My Maestros are 8 (pretty sure)... BUT the date on the sticker is so blurry I had to go by the imprint in the shell...
