Booster or not

My friend is going to be carpooling with me. She has a daughter who is 4 and weighs about 40 lbs. The girl rides in a Radian most of the time unless she rides with her father in which case she sits in a booster. We are running into space issues in the car and so the little girl is going to be riding in a booster and DS1 in her Radian. Should I just have DS1 ride in a booster? I have a PWSG I could use. He isn't really booster trained but I have until March to get him trained. He will be 5 at the end of March. This would be 1 ride per week. The vehicle is a 2011 Sienna. I'm not sure I'd be able to tether the Radian due to space issues... They have a newborn who is in one captain's chair, and the other captain's chair is occupied by their son who broke his leg and has ingress and egress issues right now. This is the reason for which I bought the booster... it's just hard to imagine DS1 really using it. I am going to try to install two Radians next to each other... but I don't know if it can be done in this car plus they carpool with two other kids on different days who don't ride in seats anymore so it might not work to have the spot occupied. In addition, there might be days where she puts him in the untethered Radian instead of the tethered one.
