Did you find one? (Why the rush, a rescue seat?) I don't think there are any sales right now but it's carried by ToysRUs, Zellers and Sears, all reg price for $129.99.

Dh's co-worker with no seat for his tiny 25 pound 3 yo.

I ended getting a Chase for $94 at walmart. I had to keep the purchase under $100 per the dad.

I wish I could have scored a Maestro for $99 like it was a few weeks back. Or heck even a $75 3/1 like I saw at walmart a few weeks back. But I think the Chase will work good for a long time. :)

Barring any great sales, yes. The EFTA was less than that recently at our Walmart, as well. No booster mode though.

I've never seen her but I'm told she's a very small child. With a tight budget to work with this was likely my best bet.

Just as long as she's tall enough to need the middle harness height - most of the Chase it's physically impossible to tighten the harness enough on a child who needs the bottom harness slots. :( (I'm thinking that there is a small variance in the length of the double loop that the harness adjustment hangs on from seat to seat, but it's not enough to allow the harness to be tight enough on that bottom height - the adjuster ends up sitting in most kids laps.)

Given the budget you had though and the type of seat he wanted... not a lot of choice. Too bad he wouldn't have gone for a Scenera or EFTA.

Why didn't they have a seat for the kiddo? (If I'm not being too snoopy. If I am, I apologize.)

Well, here's the thing. I couldn't do an efta because the seat needed to be on the narrower side. And at already 3 but only 25 pounds, I wanted to get as tall of top slots as $100 could buy. I know the chase has it's drawbacks (I did want a maestro afterall) but I think it will work. I did note that you no longer need a flathead screwdriver to change the harness height. They have added plastic tabs back there which was quite nice. Anyway, I'm not sure of all the details, I just know I got a call from dh saying I needed to buy this child a seat "tonight" and it needed to be no more than $100.

Oh yeah, you didn't have much choice unfortunately with that kind of price range.

Yes, the change to how the metal plates are held in in the back of the seat are quite nice. I think they made it about a year and a half or two ago or so? I don't remember exactly now, just remember being glad for it on a display at work, lol.

If you get to see her in the seat I'd be interested in hearing how it fits her. She's a real feather weight for her age. :)

I'm going to guess I will never see her.
