My husband and I are in the market for a new car that will comfortably hold up to four kids in car seats. This car will be an addition to our fleet and not a replacement for our current set-up. The other factor in the purchase is that it must be AWD or have 4WD as we live in WI.
We currently have a 5yo in a Frontier, 3yo FF in a Decathlon and a 1yo RF in a Decathlon across the second row of a 2009 Toyota Sequoia. This has worked very well, but we are planning another baby in the next year and will require moving two kids to the third row and leaving a perfectly good LATCH equipped seat open in order to give access to the third row. It will also force us to move the oldest to a booster full-time since there is only one tether in the third row.
We were focused on the Yukon XL with captain's chairs as it would give me the cargo space for the double stroller, but I just discovered that it only has one off-set tether in the third row. Is there any place else to tether? Has anyone had good install of two or three seats in the third row?
I should also mention that twins run in the family and I'm just a wee bit nervous that we're going to find we don't fit in the car six months after we buy it if we have 4-5 kids all in carseats.
Any recommendations anyone can give about installs would be very helpful.
Thanks.
