DOREL JUVENILE GROUP (DJG) IS RECALLING CERTAIN INFANT, CONVERTIBLE, AND BOOSTER CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEMS WHICH WERE SOLD BOTH AS STAND ALONE SEATS OR PART OF A TRAVEL SYSTEM (WITH STROLLER). CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEMS INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL BEGIN WITH MODEL NUMBERS 22077, 22078, 22148, 22149, 22150, 22152, 22154, 22155, 22158, 22159, 22172, 22177, 22178, 22185, 22188, 22195, 22356, 22371, 22372, 22412, 22452, 22453, 22456, 22458, 22459, 22462, 22465, 22469, 22476, 22486, 22546, 22547, 22553, 22554, 22561, 22564, 22567, 22574, 22580, 22657, 22740, 22741, 22755, 22758, 22759, 22790, 22799, 22880, 22560, 22346, 17439, 22449, 22475, AND IC072, MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 1, 2008, THROUGH APRIL 30, 2009. THE HARNESS LOCKING AND RELEASE BUTTON DOES NOT ALWAYS RETURN TO ITS LOCKED POSITION. A BUTTON THAT IS NOT IN THE LOCKED POSITION CAN ALLOW THE HARNESS ADJUSTMENT STRAP TO SLIP BACK THROUGH THE ADJUSTER AS A CHILD MOVES AROUND IN THE SEAT AND RESULTS IN A LOOSE HARNESS.

It affects nearly 800,000. The fix = a tube of lubricant.

They really need to include some seat names with those numbers. Hopefully there is more info on the Dorel site.

My mico's number is 22377. Does that mean it isn't recalled?
(I tugged on the harness and it is nice and tight.)

Guess so, Christina. I have two seats (Avenue and HBB) from 3/09 not on the list, either. I'll just continue to tug on the harnesses like I do all of my Dorel and SK seats...

Have Sunshine Kids seats had this problem as well?

ETA: I was thinking of trading in my Safety 1st Uptown anyway - I doubt it's on the recall, but it's from '07 and Hannah is outgrowing it fast. This may just be the catalyst to do that.

22346 is the infant seat for the Bertini travel system

IC014 is the model number for the Eddie Bauer SureFit base - maybe IC072 is the seat itself, or the seat in one of the EB travel systems - perhaps this one, since the full model number ends in SON - which is the abbrev they use for the IC072 as well.

I'm going to have to check our Uptown when DH gets home. And decide if we should keep using it or put something else in the truck.

That is why we tossed our AOE. It wouldn't stop coming loose. And a tube of lubricant, like 800,000 people are going to trust a tube of lubricant!
