Here's what i found about the advisory:
Recalled: Britax Regent Child Restraint
Product name: Regent Child Restraint
Model number: E9L39
Company, brand, or store: Britax
Recall date: 2007-07-17
Category: Car Seats
Product description and problem:
The Britax car seat included in this advisory is the Regent youth child seat, model number E9L39. The advisory only applies to car seats manufactured between November 10, 2005, and June 18, 2007. The model number and date of manufacture are on a white label on the lower left side of the child restraint underneath the fabric cover. The company is providing modified installation instructions and a product update kit that includes a longer LATCH connector strap, adhesive slip-resistant strips, and an updated belt-routing label to be applied over the existing one. The new instructions explain how to use the long belt-routing method for children weighing 22 to 40 pounds and the short method for children weighing 40 to 80 pounds. Until consumers can make these modifications, Britax says it's safe to continue using the seat as originally instructed, since the seat met or exceeded federal government safety standards at the time it was sold. The company emphasizes, though, that making the changes is strongly advised.
Britax has announced a revised installation method for the Regent child restraint. The car seat is not being recalled; the company discovered during routine testing that the car seat's safety performance could be improved and is sharing this information with consumers.
